Purpose

The Southern Garden Symposium seeks to preserve and commemorate gardening in the Deep South through lectures, workshops, and tours of historic Afton Villa gardens and Rosedown gardens.

What We Offer

In keeping with our mission, proceeds from the Southern Garden Symposium have funded numerous projects including a major revitalization project for historic Ferdinand Street in St. Francisville. During the past five years the Symposium has donated over $25,000 to restoration and beautification efforts at Rosedown and Audubon State Historic Sites, landscaping of West Feliciana parish gateways, and endowed a professorship at LSU's Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture. We hope you will join us and help support these worthy causes
